As of 2025, master’s students are paid a pre-tax amount of KRW 2.11 million (for 37 hours of work per week), and doctoral students are paid a pre-tax amount of KRW 2.55 million (for 34 hours of work per week).

Dormitories at the Daejeon headquarters and Daegu Convergence Technology Research Center are available. Applications are open to those whose resident registration address is not in Daejeon (for Daejeon dormitory) or Daegu (for Daegu dormitory). Utilization is only possible if there are vacancies. Fees are KRW 160,000–200,000 per month for single rooms and KRW 80,000 per month for double rooms.

Commuter buses for the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM) and the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO) are available. For routes and timetables, please contact KIMM School.

The flexible working system is applicable only to full-time employees (interns, postdoctoral researchers).

Changes to the onboarding date are allowed only in unavoidable cases such as background checks. Please refer to the recruitment announcement for details.

Working hours can be changed on a monthly basis. Please contact KIMM School at least one week before the desired date of change.

Student researchers cannot maintain their status while on leave. Please consult with the KIMM School coordinator before applying for a leave of absence.
